Our mission is to provide services and goodwill to our local & international communities through fun and inclusive fellowship
The Rotary Club of Kingwood applies the principles of Rotary International to our local community. We are constantly searching for service projects to help those in need. Whether it's helping feed the children in Preston County schools through the Food for Preston program or assisting with health fairs at Preston Memorial Hospital, we leave each project knowing we helped better our community in some way and had a great time while we did it.
There are several ways you can be involved! Become a traditional club member or join through our Friends and Family plan. Looking for ways to instill volunteer attributes in your kids while giving them opportunities to gain valuable volunteer hours? Check out our Junior Rotarian membership.
Each August, Kingwood Rotarians literally pack a bus full of donated food items! Gous people drive up to the Kingwood Community Building, with their vehicles full of food, and the Rotarians unload and pack the bus! The food ultimately makes its way to Food for Preston, who provide meals to Preston County students who might need food on weekends. Each backpack includes two breakfasts, lunches, dinners and snacks. Typically, the program collects approximately three months of food for over 360 students. See our calendar section for exact dates and times.
Josh the Baby Otter book is a fun and interactive classroom activity for the purpose of educating young children with the knowledge of water safety through three main objectives: 1. To never go near water without an adult. 2. To first learn to float and/or swim before going in water. 3. To always swim with a buddy. Volunteers with the Rotary Club of Kingwood coordinate with leadership in the Preston County School system to read to our local kindergartners and we do so at the end of the year, right before Summer break, so water safety is a prominent thought in their minds as they head out to pools, lakes and rivers. Each child receives a book to take home. More information on this service project can be found at:
Each Fall, Rotarians set a time period to collect coats from local community members. A specific day is then designated to make these coats available to those who need them.

In January and in June, Rotarians meet at Food for Preston or another designated location for a fun day of actually packing the bags of food for each child in Preston County that needs meals on weekends. Approximately 1500 bags are packed at this event!
Over a period of several days, Rotarians work shifts at Preston Memorial Hospital to help community members complete their paperwork to receive a variety of blood screenings and free blood pressure screenings.
